From the Sexual Offences Act 1967 to the imposition and eventual removal of Section 28, these learning materials are used to first position homophobia in society before looking at the role of such discrimination in sport.

This lecture would typically be delivered on my level 4 Sociology of Sport module where analysis and discussion often draws parallels between society and sport, including socio-political and socio-economic influences on sports coverage, participation, support and spectatorship, governance and administration.
